Delorean Gold
It all started in 1979 as an AMEX promotional idea for its gold card members. Once Delorean got word of it they were immediately on board! Problem was while the idea was gold applying real gold had never been done before-ever! They had to apply a unique coat to the legendary stainless steel body in order for the 24K gold to stick! Special gloves were required to gently push the car out of the shop! All this at a mere $85,000 a piece- and only two were ordered!
